  1. Enterprise Resources Processes (ERP) refers to "systems" that sometimes have nothing to do with software
    (and sometimes have nothing to do with "planning", even though the more common term for ERP is "Enterprise Resources Planning")
  2. Enterprise Systems Software (ESS) includes software that sometimes has nothing to do with ERP
