For example, a process might make wheels instead of cars, and therefore have its own metrics (such as Takt Time, Cycle Time, Process Lead Time...) measured in wheels instead of cars. And yet all bottom-line Time Sum Line metrics are converted into a common unit of measure.

Lean Metrics now take into consideration Work Time Available that might be unique for each process.
For example one process might work 6 days a week while all the others work 5 days. And another process might work an extra shift one day a week...
