Support. In this video, you will learn how to use your Standard Work template for Time Observations
Topics in this Video
Most commonly, you will enter your Time Observation data into your Standard Work template
1) Entered your Initial Data and Units of Measure
Optional: Define your Operators, and perhaps Operator Levels
Every row must have an Operator number.
Steps for each Operator must be all be together.
For Steps performed by an External Operator, enter '-1' (minus 1), and notice that the cell is specially formatted so that this will appear as 'X'
Ensure that each of your observers completed the Process Observation Training
Each Work Element starts & ends with a break point where work COULD be handed off from one worker to another
(Later) you can optionally add hyperlinks to drill down to more detailed Work Instructions (for new-hires or vacation replacements)
Using a Time Observation Worksheet, or a blank print-out of the Time Observation section of your Standard Work template
The video also demonstrates the use of Freeze Panes to keep the header row visible as you scroll through a large number of rows
Instead, copy a similar blank row using Insert Copied Cells or Shift Down and Copy.
And move entire rows using Move Cut Cells or Shift Down and Move.
At any time, use the dropdown list to switch between: 2nd fastest Repeatable, Mean Average, Median Average, Standard, or Video
to handle Out of Cycle Work that happens at any frequency other than the Run Cycle. (examples: setup, inspections...)
See training page for Frequency Codes
Special Situations

Standard Work Analysis is all about the Operator; not the machine.
